Animal Law Scholarships

The Center for Animal Law Studies is grateful for those individuals who enable us to offer scholarships to advance animal law education in the U.S. and abroad.


International Advocates Animal Law L.L.M. Scholarship

The International Advocates Animal Law L.L.M. Scholarships were established to support individuals with ability and potential in the field of animal law. The scholarship was designed to offer international lawyers who demonstrate the capacity and interest in obtaining an education to become their countries’ innovators and leaders in the field. Three full tuition scholarships are available each academic year. See the informational flyer here and our webpage of past recipients.

Judith Kisch Animal Law L.L.M. Scholarship

The Judith Kisch Animal Law L.L.M. Scholarship for Excellence was created in honor of Judith Kisch, a lifelong supporter of justice for all through education and advocacy. The scholarship is in the amount of $4,000 and, when awarded, is to be used exclusively toward Animal Law L.L.M. tuition costs.

Peter Nycum Animal Law Scholarship

Established by Associate Dean and Professor Peter Nycum as a grant each year to the editor-in-chief of the Animal Law Review.

Richard J. Peppin Scholarship for Animal Rights

The Richard J. Peppin Scholarship for Animal Rights is an endowed scholarship established by Rich Peppin to recognize students dedicated to advocating for the rights of animals. Recipients of this scholarship must be committed vegans and demonstrate their dedication to animal rights through their law school education and extracurricular activities. 

—- Applicants must already be a Lewis & Clark law student (J.D. or LL.M.).
—- Applications are due in the Spring semester.
