Transportation

Recognizing the threat of global climate change and its potential to impact human and non-human animals alike, we have provided public transportation information below to help you get around Portland “carbon-lite:”

Airport to Hotel

It takes approximately 45 minutes by MAX light rail train to travel from the airport to downtown Portland and the Paramount Hotel.  From the airport baggage claim area, look for signs for “Light Rail Tickets.”  You can purchase a MAX train ticket ($2.30 to downtown) and get information about the train schedule in the airport lobby.  The train runs approximately every 15 minutes to and from the airport.

To travel downtown from the airport, catch the MAX Red Line towards “City Center & Beaverton TC.”  Exit the train at the Pioneer Square North stop which is located at SW Broadway and SW Morrison in downtown Portland.  To get to the Paramount Hotel from that stop, walk along SW Broadway towards SW Yamhill Street.  Turn right onto SW Taylor Street (one past SW Yamhill) and walk up one block to SW Park Avenue.  The Paramount Hotel will be located on the left-hand side of the street at the corner of SW Taylor and SW Park.

To the Law School

Shuttle Bus

A full-size shuttle bus runs between the Law School and a downtown shuttle stop at 636 SW Salmon Street (in front of the Starbucks). Simply board the bus at shuttle stop for free service to the law school campus. Please note that the Pioneer Express weekend shuttle has added a 7:18 a.m. pick-up at Salmon & 6th during the weekend of our conference. The shuttle will also be stopping at the law school campus (without a special request) each day until 7:00 p.m. After 7:00 p.m. passengers must “flag” the shuttle from the stop located on Terwilliger Drive across from the law school. NB: when you are looking at the Weekend Pioneer Express shuttle schedule (download link below), “Templeton” is the closest stop to the law school.

To download a PDF copy of the shuttle schedule for the 2010-11 academic year, click here. The shuttle will make special stops throughout the weekend at the Law School to accommodate conference attendees.
