PEAC Welcomes Summer 2011 Law Clerks
June 09, 2011
Growing up in Pendleton, Oregon, gave Aurelia a strong connection to environmental issues in the Northwest. After earning her bachelor’s degree at Northwestern University, she moved throughout the Midwest to work on the 2008 presidential election. Since coming to Lewis & Clark Law School in 2009, she has worked with the Northwest Environmental Defense Center and served as a law clerk for the Oregon Department of Justice in the Environmental Crimes Division. Her initial work at PEAC has been on Endangered Species and Clean Air Act-related matters. In her free time, Aurelia enjoys running, especially in Portland’s Forest Park and Tryon Creek Park.
A third-year Lewis & Clark Law School student, Jessica is originally from Arkansas. In the three years preceding law school, she served as the assistant director of an all-girls summer camp in North Carolina where her love of nature and respect for the outdoor classroom led to her interest in becoming a professional environmental advocate. At Lewis & Clark, Jessica has been a project coordinator for the Northwest Environmental Defense Center (NEDC) and currently serves as one of its student directors. Jessica’s volunteer work with NEDC has focused mainly on the Clean Water Act. When not advocating for the planet, she enjoys baking, running and telling stories about growing up in the South.
As a Wyoming native and long-time Oregonian, Rochelle’s Western roots run deep. Prior to attending law school, Rochelle earned both a B.A. and M.S. in Criminology and Criminal Justice at Portland State University, where she also served as an adjunct college instructor in crime analysis. Rochelle will graduate from Lewis and Clark Law School in December 2011 with a certificate in Environmental and Natural Resources Law. Her initial work with PEAC has centered on land and natural resource issues. In her free time, she enjoys camping, jogging with her dog, rock climbing, rafting, and listening to live music.
