NCVLI presenting at 12th Annual Wyoming Victim Services Conference

Date: September 13 2010 Location: Teton Village, Wyoming

NCVLI attorney Terry Campos will be presenting at the 12th Annual Wyoming Victim Services Conference to be held in Teton Village at Snake River Lodge on September 13-15th.   The annual conference covers victimization and services to crime victims on a broad level and is sponsored by the Wyoming Division of Victim Services; Wyoming Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault; Wyoming Department of Corrections; and Wyoming Department of Family Services Adult Protective Services.  NCVLI’s  90-minute break out session titled, “Identifying the Hurdles and the Tools Involved in Enforcing Victims’ Rights in Wyoming,” will provide victim advocates and law enforcement personnel with an overview of Wyoming’s victims’ rights laws and the hurdles Wyoming victims face in asserting their rights in criminal proceedings.  Ms. Campos will identify the tools used by victim rights’ attorneys and victim advocates in other jurisdictions to overcome similar hurdles in achieving victims’ rights enforcement in their jurisdictions.  Ms. Campos will then discuss how these same tools for seeking enforcement of victims’ rights are available in Wyoming.
