Mary Peveto
Mary is the founder of Neighbors for Clean Air. She worked as a marketing communication specialist in the athletic industry until she chose to stay home and raise her children. When she learned of a national study indicating that her daughters’ school was in the top 2% of schools with the nation’s worst air quality, she became an industrial air toxins activist and a tireless advocate for clean air. PEAC has supported Neighbors for Clean Air on the issue of ESCO Corporation’s Title V air permit renewal. As Mary says, ‘Citizens now have a stronger voice that gives us the power to exercise our rights in the regulatory process and to air our concerns in an informed and effective way.’
