Disability Law Seminar

Description

  • Typically offered every other year
This seminar course examines the body of U.S. law governing persons with disabilities. The course focuses upon the structure and effectiveness of U.S. laws designed to promote equality for disabled persons in housing, employment, education, public accommodations, criminal justice and political participation. As background, and for comparative purposes, the course also considers how the legal systems of other countries define “disability” and shape the status and entitlements of disabled persons through law. Course requirements: class preparedness and several short papers, satisfactory completion of which satisfies the “B” writing requirement.
