Participate in the Lewis & Clark Legal Clinic, one of the teaching clinics for the Law School.
Students assist in the representation of actual clients and learn the basic lawyering skills of office practice, interviewing, counseling, document preparation, negotiation, and hearing and trial advocacy. Students certified under the Law Student Appearance Rule may appear in court. Clinic may satisfy the WIE requirement.

The Clinic focuses on residential eviction defenses, domestic violence cases, divorces,
child-support modification issues, chapter 7 bankruptcy, tax controversies with the Internal
Revenue Service, and some consumer issues. Some case types may not be offered and other case types may be handled. Students must have completed the equivalent of their first year of law school. Students are expected to work at the Clinic from 9:00 am - 3:30 pm Monday through Thursday. (The first week of Clinic is Tuesday, May 28, 2013 through Friday, May 31, 2013).  Enrolled students should be at the Clinic offices no later than 9:00 am on May 28, 2013. Regular and timely attendance is required. The Clinic is located in the Board of Trade Building at 310 S.W. Fourth Avenue, Suite 1018, in downtown Portland.


* Enrollment in Summer Clinics will not satisfy the Law School’s professionalism requirement.
