Jessup Results 2012
Portland finally hit a day of over 60 degree temperatures in early March 2012, but it was the Lewis & Clark Jessup team that was smokin’ hot in the Mid-Atlantic Super Regional in February. The Lewis & Clark Jessup Team for 2012—comprised of Emily Christiansen, Sarah Dandurand, Rohit Kapuria, Anaiah Krueger and Emerson Lenon, and coached by L&C alum Dagmar Butte—was a quarter-finalist in the Mid-Atlantic Regional where 24 teams and over 90 speakers competed for team and individual honors. The team ranked 4th with the highest raw point total of any team in the competition going into quarters and the team also won the Best Brief prize.
Rohit Kapuria received the 4th Place Oralist prize and Emerson Lenon placed 9th Best Oralist. The Brief will go on to compete in a separate brief competition at the Jessup International Rounds that pits the winning briefs from every participating country against one another for world wide top brief honors and based on the regional scores the team has a good chance in that competition. Lewis & Clark is very proud of this team and has high hopes for next year as two team members will be returning to avenge that quarter-final loss to UVA.
