CLINICAL PROGRAMS IN BUSINESS LAW

The Business Law Program at Lewis & Clark Law School offers students a wide range of practical skills opportunities to choose from. Under the supervision of trained clinicians, students gain valuable real-world experience in supportive environments. In the Law School's Community Development Law Project, students taking the Business Law Practicum course, under the supervision of licensed attorneys, assist clients with myriad business transactions at the Community Development Law Center, from drafting contracts to mergers and acquisitions. At the low-income taxpayer clinic, students represent clients before the Internal Revenue Service and the tax court. At the Legal Clinic, students hone their litigation skills representing clients in bankruptcy, unemployment and housing cases. In the clinical internship seminars, students practice drafting documents and learn substantive law in class, then work in corporate counsel offices in such places as Adidas, NIKE, Mentor Graphics, and more.
