Before coming to law school I spent four years in South Korea, where my previous debate experience landed me a position with the South Korean government teaching government officials English presentation and negotiation skills. Some of my students went on to use these same skills at the six-party talks with North Korea and when negotiating a free trade agreement with the United States.
I'm one of those people who always knew I was going to be a lawyer. While overseas, one of the few comforts I had was the knowledge that the laws of South Korea would protect me, regardless of my nationality. I realized that many people here in the U.S. need that same protection and I hope to provide clients with any legal guidance their business may need.
Lewis & Clark was a perfect choice for law school. So far, every professor I have had has taken a personal interest in my legal education. My peers are wonderfully diverse, and it has been extremely easy to find friends. After just one year of law school, it is clear that some of the friends I made here will be friends for life. More than that, they will be my colleagues. Although my plan is to practice in Portland, the legal education I'm receiving will prepare me to be an excellent attorney anywhere in the world.
