In 1981, when I received my undergraduate degree, I knew I wanted to attend law school but chose to first gain “a couple of years” of experience by working for a Fortune 500 corporation. That turned into 25 years of working as a sales, customer service, and software engineering manager with NCR Corporation. Several personal and professional developments finally gave me the opportunity to pursue the long-delayed study of law. Lewis & Clark is a school where the professors are friendly and their passion for teaching is demonstrated through their interactions with students both in and out of the classroom. Amongst people with many backgrounds I feel both comfortable and accepted here.
This summer I will be a summer associate at Stoel Rives and during the school year I will be working at the Bonneville Power Administration, part-time, as a law clerk focusing on employment law. The Business Law Program at Lewis & Clark has been valuable because it offers an extensive selection of substantive law courses combined with opportunities for practical experience through programs such as the Small Business Legal Clinic.
