2L, Day Program
Hometown: Gattenburg, IA

"Howdy. My name is Bil. I am a 2L who hopes that things will slow down a bit so I can catch up, but also know that this is unlikely. I grew up on a small pig farm in Iowa, went to Carleton College, then escaped the Midwest. A quick stop at a now defunct (but once fairly large) Silicon Valley law firm, some time at Amazon.com, and here I am in Law School. I've played a lot of ultimate frisbee, have taken my share of photographs, and have done a bit of traveling. I live in the SE Hawthorne District, and often scooter to school."

"I have been fairly active in the Minority Law Student Association and I am still trying to get an Asian Pacific American Law Student Association up and running. I also am on the Admissions Committee as one of the SBA student reps, and therefore also vote in the Student Body Association meetings (and sit on both the Rules and Elections Committees). I took part in the AEP (Academic Enhancement Program) am currently a TA for the 1L Property Law class. Time will tell how successful that last endeavor will be." Law School Snapshots, by Bil.

1L, Day Program
Hometown: Omaha, NE

"Hello. My name is Patrick. I moved to Portland from Oakland, CA but I grew up and went to college in Nebraska where I studied Mechanical Engineering. When I visited Lewis and Clark last spring I felt an open and supportive environment on campus and I knew I wanted to study law here. Within the first week of classes, I knew coming to L&C was the right choice." Law School Snapshots, by Patrick.

1L, Evening Program
Hometown: Fort Worth, TX

"Hello! My name is Gabby and I'm a first-year law student in the Evening Division. I grew up in Texas, went to undergrad in Oklahoma and worked in Washington, DC, for 10 years but have called Portland home since 1994. My professional background is in newspaper journalism (I was an editor at The Washington Post for many years), and in my 'free' time I like to travel, kayak and explore the beautiful Pacific Northwest." Law School Snapshots, by Gabby.

1L, Day Program
Hometown: Gloucester City, NJ

"Hi! My name is Holly, I moved here from New Jersey and have found Lewis and Clark to be everything I expected and more. I'm a 1L and have been AMAZED by the quantity of work, and the quality of the school in so many ways. The faculty and students are head and shoulders above any other school I looked at - I'm very pleased. My 13 year old son and I enjoy the outdoors - camping, hiking, kayaking - and there is always someone else around who's into the same things! I would say at this point, that it's a toss-up as to my favorite thing about being here: being surrounded by a class full of the coolest, smartest, best people I've ever met, or the feeling that the faculty here truly want us to succeed and understand, where other schools were more like conveyor belts ... get on, hang on, or fall off. Lewis and Clark has been tremendously supportive and I can say with certainty, that coming here was the best decision I ever made. Stay tuned!" Law School Snapshots, by Holly.
