Lewis & Clark Law School to Host Justice Sandra Day O'Connor and Justice Anthony Kennedy at Federal Judicial Center Conference
PORTLAND, Ore. (April 24, 2008)—Retired Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor and Justice Anthony Kennedy are among the keynote speakers scheduled at the 40th anniversary celebration of the Federal Judicial Center, hosted by Lewis & Clark Law School in September. The conference—also featuring a keynote address by former Acting U.S. Solicitor General Walter Dellinger—will cover topics including the impact of science and technology on the law, balancing national security and individual liberties in a time of terrorism, and the public's perception of the federal courts.
"We are thrilled and honored to host such a momentous event and such an unparalleled array of jurists and scholars," Law School Dean Robert Klonoff said. "Our selection as the venue for the conference is a ringing endorsement of our leadership in legal education. We are looking forward to this opportunity to showcase our school."
