Commercial Real Estate Seminar*
Description:
In this seminar, students will analyze, draft and negotiate complex commercial purchase and sale agreements, leases, commitment letters, loan documents, escrow instructions, and other commercial property development and transactional documents. We will examine title reports and polices, surveys and related due diligence materials. In addition, a good portion of class time will be devoted to negotiating contracts from the seller, buyer, lender, borrower, lessor and lessee perspectives. By the end of the course, students will have a good familiarity with the work required of a real estate practitioner. Grades will be based upon class participation and numerous drafting assignments. The series of drafting assignments qualify for the B writing requirement.
