Professional Background

After receiving her Master’s in Public Policy, Adams worked as a senior policy analyst for Metro Regional Government, where she continued to work while earning her J.D.  Most recently, Adams worked for Janet Hoffman & Associates, devoting her practice to defending those accused of crimes, including complex, white collar and environmental crimes, as well as traditional “street law” crimes.  Before starting her criminal defense practice, Adams was a civil and regulatory litigator at Stoel Rives and McDowell & Associates, during which time she practiced in state tribunals in Oregon and California as well as in federal court, gaining environmental, energy, regulatory, administrative and antitrust experience.

While practicing at Stoel Rives, Adams managed the firm’s pro bono clinic.  She is currently the Chair of OGALLA: The LGBT Bar Association of Oregon and she does pro bono legal work for Basic Rights Oregon.  As an Adjunct Professor, Adams taught NW Energy Law and Federal White Collar Crime.
