In collaboration with the Washington Coalition of Crime Victim Advocates (WCCVA), NCVLI is spearheading training at the Washington State Victim Assistance Academy, to be held in Toppenish, Washington from May 8-11, 2018.

The Washington State Victim Assistance Academy is specifically designed to provide both community and system based advocates and allied professionals with the skills and knowledge necessary to serve all victims of crime.

The Washington State Victim Assistance Academy meets the requirements outlined by the Office of Crime Victims Advocacy (OCVA) for the 30 Hour Pre-Service Core Advocacy Training & is NACP approved since 2014. 

Attendees are often new to advocacy or their positions; but these four days of training also frequently include long-time advocates, victim witness units, and other allied professionals, who are ready to learn and connect! Everyone is welcome at the Washington State Victim Assistance Academy!

  • Trauma and Trauma Reduction

  • Cultural and Spiritual Competency

  • Self-care: developing and building resiliency

  • Navigating Legal Systems

  • Victims’ Rights

  • Providing Direct Services
