Moot Court: NALC Legislative Drafting & Lobbying (721-B1)

November 04, 2013

Natasha Dolezal
1 credit (pass/no pass)
*offered every fall

This is a skills oriented course aimed at providing students with a basic introduction to the legislative process- drafting and lobbying legislation. While the focus will be on practice problems developed for past NALC competitions, the principles learned can be applied to other legislative bodies at both the federal and state levels.

The main activity of the class will be the drafting of a bill and fact sheet that students will use as they participate in mock lobbying rounds. These rounds will take place throughout the semester and will be the basis by which students are evaluated for both the course and NALC team selection.
