My name is Heather and I grew up traveling overseas, so I never put down roots until I bought my house in Portland.  I have a culinary degree from the Cordon Bleu Culinary College here in Portland and a Ministry degree from Multnomah University.  I’m 46 and have two daughters Faith (16) and Lily (13) who attend the Harriet Tubman Young Women’s Academy.  I enjoy walking my new Jack Russell puppy–her name is Tortfeasor–, running [signed up for the Portland marathon for 3rd time], and trying new restaurants–huge foodie.  Something not many people know about me is that I lived with my daughters [and then husband] aboard our 43-foot sailboat for 7 years and sailed from Key West, FL through the Panama Canal to the Galapagos and then Hawaii.  I still have the boat in Hawaii.  Her name is Double Happiness for my daughters.  The motto I live by is: “If I had known I was going to live through it; I would have enjoyed it so much more.”  I adopted this motto after sailing into and surviving a hurricane in the Pacific.  You have to enjoy the rough times because they make the best stories.  My goal in SBA is to look at ways Lewis & Clark Law School has succeeded in being accessible and find any ways that we might improve access.
