The National Environmental Policy Act is a landmark environmental statute that is a powerful tool for environmental lawyers and an action-forcing statute for government decision-makers.  NEPA requires agencies to prepare Environmental Assessments (EAs) and Environmental Impact Statements (EISs) for proposed federal agency actions.  The law applies to any federal, state or local project that involves federal funding, work performed by the federal government, or permits issued by a federal agency.

This course provides an in-depth, practice-oriented look at the purposes and uses of NEPA in environmental cases.
