This course will examine the development, structure and application of the law governing gaming on Indian lands in the United States, including with respect to the respective roles of tribes, states and the federal government in authorizing and regulating such activity, tribal-state gaming compacts, enforcement, gaming on after-acquired lands, the distinction between Class II and Class III games, employment law, finance and transactional issues and tribal regulation.  The course will also consider Indian gaming in the broader context of issues in economic development in Indian Country.
