Garik Lawson Asplund BA thru-hiked the Appalachian Trail from Maine to Georgia, from June 6 to October 16, 2010. He works as a junior advocate and writer with Binder and Binder in New York.

Lauren Brown BA is an admissions counselor at Lewis & Clark.

Courtney Burum BA joined the Peace Corps in June 2011 to teach English in Moldova.

Meghan Cain BA is a research technician at the Barshop Institute of Longevity and Aging Studies in San Antonio, Texas. Cain also works as an SAT/ACT prep instructor and tutor for Kaplan. She is applying to quantitative psychology PhD programs across the country.

Patricia Clevenger BA completed her first year at the University of Washington School of Dentistry. She spent the summer working at rural and underserved dental clinics in Alaska and Puerto Rico.

Amy Cox BA is a research assistant at Oregon Health & Science University. She works in an attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder research lab doing physiology and brain imaging research.

Carl Dickman BA is working as a biometric analyst. His two primary projects are helping resource managers choose how best to target restoration efforts for maximum benefits to salmon and a mobile data-entry system for recording bird and bat mortality on wind farms.

Danielle Fagre BA worked as a wolf-tracking technician in winter 2011 in Grand Teton National Park. She began work as an outdoor educator with Teton Science Schools in May 2011.

Andrew Foote BA is pursuing a PhD in economics at the University of California at Davis.

Sander Gusinow BA was accepted into Columbia University’s MFA program in playwriting. While at Lewis & Clark, he wrote seven plays and knew he wanted to be a playwright after seeing his work performed at Once Upon a Weekend.

Kate Harbour BA is a project assistant at PECI, a Portland nonprofit focused on energy conservation. She is also interning with Portland’s Regional Arts and Culture Council.

Jess Himelfarb BA worked for AmeriCorps as a 2010-11 volunteer coordinator with the Multicultural Integrated Kidney Education Program in Portland.

Tace James BA started classes at the University of Minnesota Law School in fall 2011. She worked as a compliance associate and fundraising assistant for the Wyden for Senate campaign after her 2010 graduation.

Nico Jose BA returned to the Philippines after graduation. He converted a family warehouse located on a large farm into his art studio and plans to open a bed-and-breakfast artists’ retreat called Studio 10.10. For more information, visit his website.

Daniel Lockley BA is considering several graduate programs in psychology. Over the past year, he has taught marimba in Portland elementary schools, toured with the Ande Marimba Band, and attended the Zimbabwean Music Festival in Corvallis.

Melanie Martin BA works as an applied behavior analysis therapist at the Center for Autism and Related Disorders in Austin, Texas.

Lindsey McElroy BA works as a teaching assistant at a Montessori school in Bellevue, Washington, while she considers graduate school programs.

Maria Morrisson BA taught English to sixth-grade classes at Gu Ting Elementary School in rural northeastern Taiwan as a Fulbright English teaching assistant. Last summer, she began working as an elementary school teacher in Miami as part of Teach for America.

Ashley Moss BA is pursuing a PhD in clinical psychology at Marquette University. She is specializing in pediatric psychology and focusing on helping children and their families cope with chronic illnesses.

Jasin Nazim BA works as a compensation analyst with Adidas in Portland.

Megan Pearlman BA works as a residential counselor at Cascadia Behavioral Healthcare in Portland. She also works as a nanny for three families.

Mara Pfneisl began graduate studies at the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna in October 2011.

Louis Prahl B.A. is a research assistant at Oregon Hearing Research Center at Oregon Health & Science University. He is applying to graduate programs in biophysics and is part of the Lewis & Clark Community Chorale.

Callie Mae Riley BA is public policy director for the Center for Intercultural Organizing and outreach and data coordinator at Children First for Oregon.

Claire Rogers BA is teaching seventh-grade math in the Washington, D.C., public schools as part of the Teach for America program.

Terra Schaetzel-Hill BA started classes at the Alpert Medical School of Brown University in fall 2011.

David Shackelford BA teaches eighth-grade algebra in San Francisco through the Teach for America program.

Chris Sheffler BA has been working in research and development in the nanotechnology industry since graduation. He interned with FEI Company in Hillsboro and was recruited for an internship with Intel at its headquarters in Santa Clara, California. He is checking out graduate programs in applied physics for fall 2012.

Emily Stevens BA is an assistant to the development and artistic departments of the Portland Opera. She continues to study voice with Susan McBerry, instructor in music.

Charles Tuggle BA is a web analyst with BlitzLocal in Portland.

Jeanette Valleau B.A. is a research assistant at Oregon Health & Science University’s Oregon National Primate Research Center. She studies obesity and metabolic disease in nonhuman primates in Dr. Kevin Grove’s lab.

Betto van Waarden B.A. traveled to Washington, D.C., after graduation to intern at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (an international relations think tank) and the office of the United Nations. In December 2010, he returned to Holland to work for several months before embarking on an epic cycling trip. He and a friend cycled almost 7,000 kilometers of the Silk Road, from Istanbul to Bishkek, through Turkey, Iran, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan. He is now pursuing a master’s degree in political thought and intellectual history at the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom.

Emily Wilson BA is applying to law school and graduate school in psychology for fall 2012 while pursuing a level two certification in yoga instruction. She aspires to own and run an integrative therapy clinic.

Jeha Yahya BA was a Fulbright English teaching assistant during 2010–11 in Madrid, Spain.

Cary Young B.A. is a developer at a software company in Portland.
