Admissions Committee
1. Briefly, what were the responsibilities of your position?
I am on the Admissions Committee. I get to review a number of applications every week and make a recommendation as to whether or not an applicant should be admitted. There is a weekly meeting, during which I present my files for the week for the entire Committee to vote on. As a student, I have a full vote.
2. What was your total time commitment for both internal and external committees?
I only began during January and have not had an opportunity to participate on internal committees. As far as the commitment for the Admissions Committee, is pretty big. There is a weekly meeting which is about 2 hours. But it takes a lot of time during the week to review the applications that I am responsible for. I would say that it is, on average, it is about 5 or 6 hours.
3. What were the benefits of your experience?
It is wonderful. I get to sit on a committee with faculty members. I get to represent the student body in having a say as to how the future of the Law School will be shaped.
