Our wonderful neighbors, Fran and Nancy, and their sweet Therapy Dogs, Jet and Mort are visiting again! They will be here: Thursday, April 26th at 11:30 – 1:15PM; and Monday, April 30th at 1:00 – 3:00PM. They will be located in the SBA Conference Room. (Same location as before – near the door to McCarty Room 1)

Transportation & Parking Updates!
Parking Permits
Beginning on Friday, April 27th, parking permits will NOT be required on any of the 3 campuses through the summer. All other parking regulations will continue to be enforced and this includes faculty-staff, 3L, and Law reserved spaces, loading zones, fire lanes, and handicapped spaces.
Law School Shuttle
The Law School Shuttle will operate according to the schedule through Friday, May 4th, for the duration of the summer.
Pioneer Express Shuttle
The Pioneer Express Shuttle will operate according to the schedule through Friday, May 11th. ending at 2:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 12th, for the duration of the summer.

An Evening with Walter Echo-Hawk

Criminal Law Society Board
It is now time for the Criminal Law Society to choose the board for next year. There will be 3 positions available: President, Secretary, and Treasurer. If you would like to be considered, please send a short email with your name, what position you would like, what year you are, what your interest in criminal law is, and a short reason why you think you would be a good person for the position. If you would be interested in more than one position, please rank them from most interest to least interest in the email to aspinks@lclark.edu
This year’s board will go over the applicants and choose the board for next year.

PEAC Accepting Applications for 2012-2013 Environmental Litigation Clinic

2L, 3L, and 4L students with a commitment to environmental law are invited to apply for PEAC’s 2012-2013 Environmental Litigation Clinic. Help save salmon, protect clean air and water, and preserve our natural heritage while gaining practical experience in real-world environmental litigation!

Law Review Write-On Competition Dates
May 7th to June 26th, 2012
Students interested in joining a law review should participate in this year’s Write-On Competition, which will begin on May 7th and run through June 26th. The problem can be accessed via TWEN at any time between those dates, but submissions must be uploaded by 11:59 p.m. on June 26th.
To participate in the Write-On Competition, you will need to add the TWEN course “Law Review Joint Writing Competition 2012.” The problem is password-protected, and the password will not be available until May 7th.

The National LGBT Bar Association is now accepting submissions for the Michael Greenberg Writing Competition, the International Association of LGBT Judges Student Writing Competition and the Student Leadership Award
Michael Greenberg Student Writing Competition
Established in memory of Michael Greenberg, a former National LGBT Bar Association board member and Philadelphia attorney who died in 1996 from complications with AIDS, this exciting competition is dedicated to encouraging and recognizing outstanding law student scholarship on the legal issues affecting lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) persons. International Association of LGBT Judges Student Writing Competition
For the first time, the International Association of LGBT Judges will be sponsoring a writing competition for all law students attending the 2012 Lavender Law Conference & Career Fair. Student Leadership Award
The National LGBT Bar Association’s Student Leadership Award is the organization’s highest honor for law students. The 2012 Student Leadership Award will be presented at a special reception at the 2012 Lavender Law® Conference & Career Fair. Please click here to read full award details.
Timeline
All three student awards will follow the same final submission date of Sunday, May 20, 2012. Late entries will not be considered.
