Practicing Global Law in Today’s World
On Tuesday, Sept. 1, attorney Paul Taylor and Prof. Gerald McAlinn spoke to students about their experiences practicing law and provided tips and advice for students interested in adding an international aspect to their practice as future attorneys.

About the Speakers:
Paul Taylor, J.D. Taylor Global Law Office - Paul Taylor received his JD from Columbia University, where he also received a certificate from the Parker School of Transnational Law and was Editor of the Journal of Transnational Law. Paul is fluent in Japanese, and was Translator, Law In Japan: An Annual. Paul has been an adjunct professor at Lewis & Clark Law School teaching International Business Transactions. His career spans over 20 years representing US and foreign clients in all manner of international trade, intellectual property and business transactions.
Prof. Gerald Paul McAlinn,Keio University Law School in Tokyo, Japan - Prof. McAlinn has a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and an LL.M. in Public International Law from Trinity College, the University of Cambridge. He has lived and worked in Tokyo for over 25 years, practicing law in a leading Japanese law firm, and serving as regional general counsel for two major international corporations (ARCO Chemical and Nippon Motorola).
