Cultural Experience Field Trip

We will be taking a day trip with Ed Edmo who is an internationally acclaimed poet, performer, traditional storyteller and lecturer on Northwest tribal culture, consultant to the Smithsonian Museum of the American Indian, and recipient of a national Endowment for the Arts grant, Ed Edmo conducts writing workshops, storytelling performances, and informational lectures. Ed currently works with the Oregon Folk life Program at the Oregon Historical Society and the Chautauqua Program with the Oregon Council for the Humanities. Ed serves on many advisory boards that serve and education Native Americans.
See one of the most beautiful places in the world, Warm Springs Indian Reservation in Oregon’s high desert country. Take a trip with Ed to the Museum at Warm Springs with exhibits that display the culture and wisdom of the Native people of the Cascades and the Columbia River. Hear the stories. We will meet with a group of tribal leaders for a panel discussion. They will share some of their day-to-day experiences practicing Indian Law. This will be an informal session where you can ask questions and share ideas. Lunch will be provided! The Field trip is scheduled for July 11, 2009.
