Susanna Morrill, associate professor of religious studies, has received a Charles Redd Fellowship in Western American History.

The Charles Redd Center for Western Studies at Brigham Young University promotes the study of the Intermountain West by offering grants to faculty and students at colleges and universities across the country to assist in their research.

The $1,000 grant will help offset travel and other research expenses, allowing Morrill to spend one month conducting research in the Redd Center’s special collections in support of her project on women’s birth and death practices in the 19th-century West.
