2013 Distinguished Environmental Law Graduates named

On October 3rd, three environmental law alumni were recognized for their work with a Distinguished Environmental Law Graduate award.

On October 3rd, three environmental law alumni were recognized for their work with a Distinguished Environmental Law Graduate award. The award, started in 1995 in honor of the environmental law program’s 25th anniversary, recognizes several alumni each year who have made a significant contribution to the environmental or natural resources law or policy fields. The environmental and natural resources law faculty select the recipients each year.

The 2013 award recipients are:

  • Janice Schneider, ’92, partner at Latham & Watkins LLP in Washington, D.C.
  • Cliff Villa, ’93, Assistant Regional Counsel, U.S. EPA Region 10, in Seattle
  • Chuck Bonham, ’00, Director of the California Department of Fish and Wildlife in Sacramento. 

Recent graduate Liv Brumfield, ‘13, was also recognized with the annual Williamson Award. The award, named for Emeritus Professor Bill Williamson and funded by the Environmental Alumni Association, honors a recent graduate of the environmental and natural resources law program dedicated to the pursuit of public interest environmental law.
