Sarah Melton ’08

Sarah Melton ’08 is In-House Legal Counsel, VP of Compliance, and Director of Legislative Affairs for Denali Alaskan Federal Credit Union in Anchorage, Alaska.  Sarah’s focus is: corporate, commercial, and banking law; federal and state regulatory compliance and advocacy; and corporate governance, risk management, and best practices. 

Sarah received her BA from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2003, graduating summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, and her JD in 2008 from the Northwestern School of Law at Lewis & Clark College.  She is currently completing her Executive M.BA through Alaska Pacific University and the Danube University at Krems in Austria.  She is also attending Pacific Coast Banking School at the University of Washington, Foster School of Business. 

 

Sarah is a former law clerk to the Jicarilla Apache Tribal Court and the Honorable Eric A. Aarseth with the Anchorage Superior Court.  She interned with the Alaska Attorney General’s Office, Commercial and Fair Business Section, and served as a Fellow with the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration in Washington D.C.  Sarah also taught “Business Law” at the University of Alaska, College of Political Science & Public Policy.

Sarah serves as a pro bono attorney with the Alaska Network on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault.  She also currently serves on Lewis & Clark Law School’s Board of Alumni.
