Congratulations Patrick!
Each year American Society of Composers, Authors & Publishers (ASCAP) sponsors a student paper competition in the area of copyright law called the Nathan Burkan Memorial Competition. ASCAP provides funding each year for law schools to award top honors for the best student authored papers in the field of copyright law.
Patrick McAtee was awarded first prize in the 2010 Nathan Burkan Memorial Competition at the law school, for his paper, IP Law and Norms in Food Art: Copyright Protection is Just Icing on the Cake. Mr. McAtee’s award from the law school makes his paper eligible for the national competition, the winner of which has yet to be announced.
