The Urban League of Portland recently accused the Oregon Department of Justice of monitoring social media posts of people using the #BlackLivesMatter hashtag. Oregon Attorney General Ellen Rosenblum has called for an investigation. Lewis & Clark law professor Tung Yin discusses the legal issues involved, and what laws might have been broken, in an interview on Oregon Public Broadcasting’s “Think Out Loud” program. He further comments in an article by Willamette Week about the length of time it took for the investigation to get underway.
