Professor Ozan Varol, a native of Turkey and expert in comparative constitutional law, gives historical, legal and political insight into the recently failed coup in Turkey and the reaction of Turkish President Erdogan in pieces published in the World Post, a partner of the Huffington Post and Berggruen Institute. The first piece discusses the failure of the coup itself, while the second outlines comparisons between the reaction of Erdogan’s government after the coup and that of Hitler’s following the Reichstag fire.
