SBLC March Spotlight: Trademarks
March 01, 2017
Trademark law protects any word, name, symbol or device that a person uses to identify and distinguish one’s goods and services from those manufactured or sold by others. Trademark law protects some of the most important branding tools including marketing strategies, logos, themes, colors, signage and packaging.
The goal of trademark law is to help consumers easily differentiate between products, to facilitate quicker transactions and to encourage companies to invest in their products and brands. Anything used as a trademark must be distinctive and unique.
