Opt In to Race Forward: Navigating Race in the Legal Profession Sessions

Race is the topic of our time. In our personal and professional lives, race talk is unavoidable. When speaking with peers, colleagues, students, or clients, or in a classroom, courtroom, meeting, or an office, the topic of race will inevitably come up. You are invited and encourage to attend these upcoming sessions that will continue the conversation stared in Part 1.

But for many of us, the question is how?

L&C Law alums Kasia Rutledge and Rakeem Washington are leading a three-part interactive workshop on how to discuss race. The workshop aims to equip attendees with tools and skills for effective and meaningful engagement. As present and future legal advocates, ignoring the race elephant in the room is not an option. Lunch will be provided for the workshop sessions

Part II: Tuesday, October 31, 2017, 12:10-1:30 PM in Room 3

Part III: Wednesday, November 15, 2017, 12:10-1:10 PM in Room 3

Kasia, Rakeem, and the Hon. Darleen Ortega will also lead two student debriefing sessions on the following dates. Come ask questions and discuss thoughts generated by the workshop. Light refreshments will be provided.

Debrief II: Tuesday, November 7, 2017, 3:45-5:00 PM in Room 1
