Law Students Earn Awards in Mock Trial/Moot Court Competition

Several Lewis & Clark students earned awards in the inter-school Mock Trial/Moot Court Competitions, and six were selected to

Lewis & Clark students scored high in the recent inter-school Mock Trial/Moot Court competition. This is the culmination of the Mock Trial/Moot Court course, an on-your-feet class where students hone trial skills through demonstration and practice. The course is taught by former prosecutor Simon Whang and criminal defense attorney Ed Kroll, and features lectures by trial consultants, respected practitioners, and judges. 

At the inter-school competition, students try three entire domestic violence assault cases as prosecutors and defense attorneys, judged by lawyers and judges. 

Several students were recognized with awards:

Rachel Hummell (1st Place Best Trial Team, 2nd Place Best Oralist)

Pendrey Trammell (1st Place Best Trial Team, 1st Place Best Oralist)

Perry Kantor (2rd Place Best Trial Team)

Lindsay Jonasson (2nd Place Best Trial Team, Professionalism Award)

Elizabeth Graves (3rd Place Best Trial Team)

Jeffrey Adams (3rd Place Best Trial Team)

Kaylee Dickerboom (3rd Place Best Oralist)

In addition, six students were selected to represent L&C Law at the National Texas Young Lawyers Association Mock Trial Competition, with Regionals held in Sacramento CA in February 8-10.
