Recently, The Oregonian spotlighted Lewis & Clark Associate Professor of Music and Director of Choral Activities, Katherine FitzGibbon and her work on social justice through choral music. As Artistic Director of Portland’s professional Resonance Ensemble, Dr. FitzGibbon notes that she strives to “perform concerts with themes that connect deeply with people,” and the ensemble has had great success in their inspiring programs.

The Resonance Ensemble’s current season focuses on three major concerts: VoicesSouls, and BodiesVoices was performed in November of 2017, and offered a powerful perspective on racial inequalities. The ensemble will be performing a FREE concert called Souls at First Presbyterian Church on Sunday, February 25, 2018 where they will explore connections between different religions. Bodies will celebrate gender identities in honor of Pride month on Sunday, June 24, 2018.
