My name is Manohar and I was born and raised in sunny Long Beach, California.  I completed undergrad at UCLA with a degree in Biochemistry and later went on to get a Master of Public Health in Community Health Education from Cal. State Long Beach.  I made a career out of lab work in the biotech industry for seven years, but a good friend’s bout with breast cancer refocused my attention on health care policy. That experience in combination with a lack of windows in the lab led me into law. When not in school, I enjoy doing hands-on activities such as working on cars or fixing stuff around the house.  I also like running on trails, reading, learning languages, and traveling.  Cooking is a good distraction because it is like performing chemistry experiments in the kitchen.  Not many people may know that I love airplanes, have skydived, and am a “talented” juggler, which I find to be a good stress reliever during finals.  The motto I live by is: “Consistent maintenance is essential to success.”  My ultimate career goal is to work in Congress, molding legislation that improves peoples’ lives.  As SBA President, I intend to create an enriching community environment in which students feel at home.
