About Us: The Minority Law Student Association of Lewis & Clark Law School serves to promote the recruitment and retention of minority students, staff and faculty, to promote unity among students of color, to promote awareness and understanding in the law school and the community of perspectives, culture, and heritage of students of color, and to create a forum to address issues concerning its members. MLSA encourages the participation of minority alumni in developing and remaining responsive to the social, political, and academic promotion of the minority community, provides a cooperative atmosphere conducive to creativity, innovation and camaraderie among its members, and promote and encourage unity between all minority cultures and organizations on campus.

Mission, Goals & Agenda: MLSA this year will continue its strong tradition of sponsoring and hosting community-building events, including the early year barbecue and hiking mixers, the faculty appreciation Thanksgiving dinner, the Spring Fling, and inviting a variety of speakers to Lewis & Clark to host discussions on pressing issues affecting minorities and the law. We will work closely with the Oregon State Bar’s other minority resources, including the Affirmative Action program, the Opportunities for Law in Oregon program, and the other minority groups at Lewis & Clark and the other Oregon law schools. As an organization, we will continue to expand our functions and create new events to support minorities and the whole of the legal community.
