Jewish Legal Society
The Jewish Legal Society (JLS) welcomes all students, regardless of religious or cultural affiliation. Our mission is to provide a forum for Jewish law students to interact with one another and with the greater community of Portland. In addition to organizing the annual Passover Seder for students, staff, and faculty, JLS also hosts Jewish speakers on campus, organizes Jewish student-attorney networking opportunities, and leads community service events and activities throughout the academic year.

About Us: We seek to create a community for Jewish law students, their spouses, partners, children, friends, or those of Jewish heritage. We are active in a variety of ways including, on campus ethical education, international law, religious and interfaith programming.
Yearly Agenda: We organize lunch & learns where we invite speakers to teach us something while we enjoy lunch provided by JLS. We plan Passover as a large celebration open to anyone connected to the law school, including students, their families, professors, and administrative staff. We host events to celebrate the holidays at student’s homes. We provide free or discounted tickets to events like the local Jewish legal organizations and High Holy Days.
