Portland City Grill

Unless your firm is footing the bill, most law students will prefer the not-so-best-kept-happy-hour-secret.

The Portland City Grill offers fine dining at a high altitude. Situated on the 30th floor of “Big Pink,” the city’s most conspicuous skyscraper (otherwise known as the Unico Bancorp Tower at 5th and Burnside), the bar and restaurant offer fantastic views of the West Hills and downtown, respectively.

The restaurant has a dress code and serves such luxurious dishes like filet mignon and Alaskan king crab legs, so unless your firm is footing the bill, most law students will prefer the not-so-best-kept-happy-hour-secret: the bar serves a wide assortment of appetizer dishes for $3-$5 (sushi, calamari, hamburger) and reasonably-priced drinks.

Monday through Friday, people begin lining up near the elevator around four o’clock for the 4:30-6:30 Happy Hour so they can compete for the highly coveted booth lounging areas next to the windows. It’s a great place to bring visitors or dates for a romantic sunset and some delicious dishes.

The Full Happy Hour Schedule is: Mon-Fri 4:30pm-6:30pm & 10pm-midnight, Sat 4:30-6:30pm & 10pm-1am, Sunday 4pm-11pm
