This course will cover a range of legal issues associated with the development of utility-scale solar and wind projects, including state and federal environmental regulation; siting and permitting (zoning, building codes, and other land use issues); easements and covenants; property concerns related to severable wind rights; and evolving regulations and standards designed to maintain a reliable transmission grid.  The course will also briefly discuss unique legal issues associated with distributed generation (solar panels on rooftops and wind turbines in backyards).
