David Hittle ’74 has practiced law in Salem, Oregon since graduating from the law school in 1974. His practice involves representing the injured and disabled before the Social Security Administration, the Workers’ Compensation Board and in state and federal trial and appellate courts.
In addition to his law practice, Hittle has severed in many bar related capacities including two terms on the Board of Governors of the Oregon State Bar, two terms on the Board of Directors of the Oregon Trial Lawyers Association, President of the Marion County Bar, President of the Board of Directors of the Oregon Law Foundation, Chair of the State Professional Responsibility Board, Chair of the Appellate Practice the Civil Rights and the Workers’ Compensation Sections. He served for many years on the Board of Directors of the Oregon Law Institute. He has also served as a pro tem Municipal, District and Circuit Court Judge.
Hittle has taught Business Law for Linfield College off campus program and Legal Research and Writing for Willamette University School of Law. He has also been a contributing author of numerous chapters for Oregon State Bar Continuing Legal Education publications.
Hittle was the recipient of the 2006 Oregon State Bar President’s Membership Service Award.
