What I am doing with my Law degree:
I work for Santiago law firm Guerrero, Olivos, Novoa y Errázuriz, one of the most prestigious firms here in Chile, with international clients all over the world (i.e. JP Morgan, Morgan Stanley, Barclays). The firm is exclusively business-area and litigation with a heavy emphasis on international deals. The attorneys here have LLMs from all over the world and speak many languages. El Mercurio, a major newspaper, recently spotlighted the work I am doing as a foreign lawyer. As for me, I love working here. It gives me the opportunity to truly have an international practice, and work with lawyers and legal systems all over the world.

I am also working on a case in the Superior Court of California representing a Chilean nonprofit against the Estate of a former San Francisco district attorney for allegedly donating inter vivos gifts worth approximately $2 million. In August I will be teaching U.S. business law at one of the top two law schools here in Chile, Universidad de Católica (Catholic University).

Areas of law my work involves:
My practice areas are project finance and international litigation and arbitration. For example, right now, I am closing a project finance with lawyers and banks all over the world (London, Tokyo, Paris, New York, Brazil, etc.) for a project of approximately US$1.5 billion.

Best experience at Lewis & Clark:
The “take your own path” attitude and individuality of the Lewis & Clark experience and its professors really opened my eyes to non-traditional ways to pursue a career, as I have done. I am not sure I would have received the same encouragement from another law school.

My favorite course:
Christie Helmer's transnational litigation and arbitration course.

What I am most proud of: I am most proud of following my dreams and taking a chance on working and living in another country.
