Environmental and Natural Resources Law
To help international LL.M. students and visiting scholars with the complexity of learning advanced concepts in a United States law school, Lewis & Clark has developed a two-week International LL.M. Seminar that begins the first Monday in August before the start of the academic year. This seminar includes 30 hours of classroom instruction and provides 2 credits of the 28 credits required for an international LL.M. in environmental and natural resources law.
Topics covered in the seminar include a basic introduction to the U.S. legal and governmental system, an overview of the U.S. environmental and natural resource laws, and workshops on legal research and writing, study techniques, and exam taking. Summer Seminar is mandatory for all LL.M. students and visiting scholars who did not receive an undergraduate or law degree in a common law country, and is highly recommended for international LL.M. students from common law countries as well.
