In keeping with Lewis & Clark’s national reputation for environmental and natural resources law, the 2009 national environmental moot court team again won the competition for the second year in a row.

On Earth Day 2009, Northwest Environmental Defense Center, a student group and nonprofit organization based at Lewis & Clark Law School, once again grabbed headlines for a creative, proactive settlement with a large industrial polluter. Schnitzer Steel agreed to improve its facility’s system for preventing polluted stormwater runoff into the Willamette River.
