U.S. President Barack Obama appointed Phil Schiliro '81 as his liaison with Congress.
Oregon's new attorney general John Kroger appointed Brent Foster '99 to oversee enforcement of Oregon environmental crimes.
The Oregon Department of Transportation chose Margi Lifsey '00 as ODOT's new Sustainability Program Manager.
Portland mayor Sam Adams named Catherine Ciarlo '94 as his tranportation policy advisor.

The 2011 Environmental Law Summer Program will feature a unique five-week, ten-course series on Energy Law, including both traditional and renewable energy sources. On the first day of working meetings of the 15th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES), IELP distributed to the 175 Parties a comprehensive analysis of the Convention that examines the core objectives of the treaty in the context of some of the most important provisions of the Convention.
