Alexis Andiman is a second-year law student with a focus on environmental law.  She graduated from St. John’s College in Santa Fe, New Mexico with a double major in Philosophy and History of Mathematics and Science and a double minor in Classical Studies and Comparative Literature.  She enjoys eating pickled foods and exploring Oregon’s Wilderness Areas.  To contact Alexis, email alexisandiman@lclark.edu.

Brett Applegate holds a bachelor of arts degree in English and creative writing and a master of fine arts degree in creative writing.  Brett taught college writing for four years before law school.  She enjoys vinyasa yoga and cats. To contact Brett, email bapplegate@lclark.edu.

Erin Duncan is a second-year student and TA for Professors Miller and Chin.  She is pursuing a public interest certificate, and her academic interests include discrimination against women, reproductive rights, and human and civil rights generally.  When she is not studying, she enjoys cooking, hiking, and photography.  To contact Erin, email eduncan@lclark.edu.

Rachael Federico is a second-year student with a focus in public interest immigration law.  Rachael earned her B.A. in English at Union College in Schenectady, New York and her M.A. in Women’s Studies at Texas Woman’s University in Denton, Texas.  She is currently co-president of the Jewish Legal Society (JLS) and a board member of the Public Interest Law Project (PILP).  She enjoys teaching citizenship classes to permanent residents hoping to naturalize. To contact Rachael, email RFederico@lclark.edu.

Laura Hagen is a second-year student who made her way to Lewis & Clark from Boston, MA to focus her legal studies on animal and environmental law. She earned her B.S. in English education at Miami University in Oxford, OH. Laura serves at the managing editor for Animal Law Review and likes to run, hike, dragonboat, and enjoy all things Pacific Northwest. To contact Laura, email lhagen@lclark.edu.

Kimberly McCullough is a second-year student who has been working in the legal field in various capacities for over seventeen years (periodically taking breaks to adventure and travel the world).  She earned a Bachelor of Arts with Honors in English from the University of Washington.  Kimberly is a member of the Lewis & Clark Law Review and Secretary of the Lewis & Clark Law School ACLU.  In her spare time, she likes to DJ cute music, yarn-craft, collect robots, and stare at pictures of alpacas. To contact Kimberly, email klm@lclark.edu.

Ben Pepper, Advanced TA, is originally from Bellingham, WA. Ben earned a B.A. in Political Science and Spanish from the University of Oregon in 2005, took several years off to work as a paralegal among other things, and is now completing his final year of law school at L&C. In addition to his position as the Legal Analysis and Writing Department’s Advanced TA, he is a TA for the Academic Enhancement Program, a Lead Articles Editor for the Lewis & Clark Law Review, and a faculty Research Assistant. His interests include backpacking, woodworking, and remaining continually thankful that he was fortunate enough to be born, raised, and able to remain in the Pacific Northwest. To contact Ben, email bpepper@lclark.edu.

Zach Pilchen is from Northern Virginia, but tells people he’s from Washington, D.C. because it’s just easier that way.  After double-majoring in government and environmental policy in college, Zach took Horace Greeley’s advice and went west, young man, to Lewis & Clark.  Outside of class, Zach is on the Appellate Moot Court Team and Environmental Law’s “Ninth Circuit Review.”  In his free time, he annoys his girlfriend by talking about law school stuff. To contact Zach, email zpilchen@lclark.edu.

Steve Sherman was born and raised in the Southwest, and he moved to Oregon because he needed more trees in his life. In addition to his BA, he holds an MA in English, a remnant of his initial impulse to pursue a career in academia. Though he still enjoys literature, he hasn’t picked up a book for fun in longer than he can remember. He is a member of the Lewis & Clark Law Review and has served as a faculty Research Assistant. In his spare time, he loves to hike, camp, and eat good food. To contact Steve, email ssherman@lclark.edu.

Lisa Whittemore is currently a second-year student who resides in Beaverton, OR with her two dogs and husband. Prior to law school Lisa worked at adidas US HQ in Brand Marketing and Media for four years. (NOTE: A is lower case.) Lisa always planned on attending law school, but it was her work at adidas on several trademark infringement lawsuits that prompted her to start a law career earlier than expected. In her spare time she loves to golf, watch football, hike, and trap shoot. To contact Lisa, email EWhittemore@lclark.edu

Lorena Wisehart has a Bachelor of Science in Botany from Humboldt
State University and a Master of Science in Environmental Science from
Oregon State University. Prior to law school, she worked as a botanist
and conservation biologist in Oregon and California. Now her interests
are studying environmental law and assisting first year students with
learning how to navigate through law school and master legal research
and writing. To contact Lorena, email lwisehart@lclark.edu.
