David Boyer, President

David Boyer is a Portland native with strong ties to the community. He grew up in NE Portland and attended Lincoln High School. He pursued a history degree at the University of Colorado at Boulder and studied abroad at the University of Otago in New Zealand. After college he worked as a general contractor, building his business each year. Before starting law school, Mr. Boyer took time to travel around the world, spending much of his time in various parts of Asia and the Mediterranean. Currently he works for the Vancouver City Attorney’s Office as a certified legal intern. When not in school or prosecuting misdemeanors in Vancouver, Mr. Boyer spend his time with his young son and beautiful wife.

Christopher Graves, External Vice President

Christopher Graves is an Oregon native, raised around the Oregon Bar Association, A second year law student, Mr. Graves clerks at the Oregon Department of Justice and serves on the Faculty Appointments Committee at the Law School. Mr. Graves has also worked as a jury consultant and has presented his research on jury decision making at professional conferences. In his role as the External Vice President, he is a point of contact for BLS members who are seeking to make connections in the greater Portland community.
Peter Evalds, Treasurer

Peter Evalds is a Portland transplant from Philadelphia. Having managed a $40 million financial planning firm, he has an extensive background in business. He worked in the financial services industry for over five years, where he served as Corporate Office Manager, Client Service Manager, and Case Design Director (overseeing product research and financial plan design). Peter is in his second year at Lewis & Clark, focusing on business transactions, tax, securities, and insurance. He is currently a full-time law clerk at the Portland City Attorney’s Office and a Research Assistant to Professor Jack Bogdanski. Last summer and fall, he was a Research Assistant to Professor Amy Bushaw. In addition to being the Treasurer of the Business Law Society, Peter is also an Article Editor on the Lewis & Clark Law Review and is writing a tax article for the Oregon Business Lawyer Newsletter. In those rare moments when he’s not working or studying, Peter enjoys brewing beer with his wife.
Jeffrey Crosswhite, Faculty Liaison

A Bay Area native, Mr. Crosswhite studied Mass Communications and Public Policy at UC Berkeley and finished his undergraduate degree in Bangkok while enrolled in Thammasat University’s Bachelor of Economics program. While at Berkeley, Mr. Crosswhite worked in advocacy for an alcohol industry watchdog (Marin Institute) and within the district office of California State Senator Leland Y. Yee Ph.D as a Legislative Intern. In his years before attending Lewis and Clark Law, he worked within the welfare department of the Social Security Administration and most recently a non-profit in rural North Carolina creating jobs for adults with mental and economic hardships. A fun fact about Jeff is that he has held a job in every year since age thirteen. Jeffrey is first-year law student passionate about remedying inequality through sustainable and competitive business practices.
Ron K. Cheng, Chief of Publicity

Ron K. Cheng is from Morgantown, West Virginia. He graduated cum laude from West Virginia University, with a B.A. in Political Science. During his undergraduate education, he served as the student body vice president from 2010-2011 and was recognized as the “Student Leader of the Year” by the local NAACP. Mr. Cheng also worked as the a/v administrator for West Virginia Continuing Legal Education where he consulted and supervised the creative development department. He is currently a first year student with an interest in business law and litigation, serving as the Chief of Publicity for the Business Law Society and as the Vice President of Public Relations for the Federalist Society.
