Summer Stipends

About Summer Stipends

Each year PILP grants Summer Stipends of up to $5,000 each so law students can work at public interest organizations that cannot afford summer law clerks. The benefit of the program is twofold:

  1. Students can afford to work in the public interest sector and gain valuable legal experience while in law school;
  2. Nonprofit and governmental organizations receive legal help that they could not otherwise afford.

PILP funds the Summer Stipend Program primarily through our Annual Auction. For more information about the Summer Stipend Program, please contact PILP’s Director of Stipend Board Relations at pilp@lclark.edu.
