About Table Talk
During the Table Talk portion of the fairs, participating employers are available to talk to students who approach their tables. This is a great opportunity to find out more about what different organizations do, begin networking to find out about a particular employer or area of the law, get a feel for different office cultures, and perhaps impress someone enough that they ask you to work with them over the summer. There are always employers who participate in the table talk but not in the pre-scheduled interviews, so this is your only path to meeting with them. Table talk is not a formal interview, but it is a time to impress employers with your interest and skill.
About Pre-scheduled Interviews
Some employers interview for open attorney or summer intern/clerk positions at the career fairs. Students interested in these interviews must apply by the deadline for requesting interviews. See the Interview Process information for more details.
Interviews are 20 minutes long and take place in a large open room with 20+ other interviews occurring at the same time. It can feel a little like the speed-dating equivalent of an interview, but it is a serious job interview. Many of the employers base their hiring decisions solely on the career fair interview and materials you submit to request the interview.
