OUR VISION

SABER is a student group at the Lewis & Clark Law School in Portland, Oregon. SABER is dedicated to promoting collaboration between environmental advocacy groups, governmental agencies and the business sector, in order to recognize the role each stakeholder plays in resolving issues pertinent to all. We strive for balance among stakeholders’ views.

We believe that the most effective long-term solutions can be achieved through a cooperative process. Attorneys can facilitate this process, ensuring that the basic goals of all parties are met within the legal framework.

 

SUSTAINABLE WINERY TOUR 

On October 15th, SABER hosted its annual sustainable winery event. This year SABER toured Montinore Estates in Forest Grove. Montinore Estates is a biodynamic vineyard, going a step beyond the organic wineries. 

 

Hopworks Urban Brewery Tour

On Saturday, April 24, SABER took a tour of Hopworks Urban Brewery!

Hopworks is a sustainable brewery in Portland. Their brewing process and cooking all utilize organic ingrediants, biodiesel powered machinary, local ingrediants, composting, recycled materials and the list goes on. Some highlights from their building alone include rain water capture and hot water recirculation.

Green HammerTour

On April 16 2010, SABER took a tour of a Green Hammer home under constuction.

Based in Portland, Green Hammer provides intelligent ecologically conscious design and build services for home additions, remodels and new construction. Their passion is to creatively unite the use of advanced technologies in energy efficiency with the intelligent use of natural, non-toxic, and low carbon footprint materials and design concepts.
