  • Lords of Nature

12:00pm - 1:00pm Wolves and cougars, once driven to the edge of existence, are finding their way back – from the Yellowstone plateau to the canyons of Zion, from the farm country of northern Minnesota to the rugged open range of the West. This is the story of a science now discovering top carnivores as revitalizing forces of nature, and of a society now learning tolerance for beasts they once banished.

  • Animal Consciousness - SALDF Speaker Series Event

    12:15pm - 1:30pm Animal Consciousness

Can fish feel pain?  Are birds stupid?  Is most animal behavior instinctual?  If we think in words and animals have no language, does that mean they cannot think? The philosopher Rene Descartes believed that animals were like machines, without reason or feelings.  Science has come a long way since then, so come learn some new things about what animals think and feel.
